Sinds de Wet kansspelen op afstand verleent de Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) de vergunningen voor online kansspel. Welke aanbieders er een hebben, staat in de Kansspelwijzer van de Ksa. Uitsluiten doe je via Cruks, het centrale register dat bij elke vergunninghouder geldt.
Sinds 1 oktober 2024 gelden er verplichte speellimieten: nieuwe spelers krijgen standaard maximaal 350 euro storting per maand, en 150 euro voor jongvolwassenen tot 24 jaar. Wie het limiet wil verhogen, moet eerst persoonlijk contact hebben met de aanbieder. De limiet wordt bovendien in een neutrale omgeving ingesteld, zonder voorgevulde bedragen of reclame.
Tijdens het spelen verschijnt elke 30 minuten een melding met de speelduur en de ingestelde limieten. Bij elke review noemen we de vergunning die de aanbieder opgeeft; alleen een Ksa-vergunning maakt het aanbod in Nederland legaal.
